Background

  • Irish Type I   - North Irish, associated Irish or Scottish and counties in northwestern Ireland
    Irish Type II  - South Irish, common in Britain and Ireland and areas settled by large numbers of emigrants
    Irish Type III - Dalcassian, concentrated in central western Ireland
    Irish Type IV - Possible invader marker of English/Norman origin (Dennis Wright) or descendants of English invaders/settlers who came to southern Ireland many, many centuries ago (Tim Desmond)
